The planet Insidion is located in the out regions of the Rakkan system, comprising a part of a number of planets in the out reaches of the galaxy. Its location was ideal for the Catani, using it as a prison planet to hold both POWs and some of the most dangerous prisoners convicted under Catani law. Insidion itself is a hostile desert environment home to the most prolific murderers and any enemies fighting against the Catani as a part of the Great War. Since it is located in the rim of the system, travel to and from the planet is long and arduous, only a handful of known trade routes supplying the prison colony. There are a cluster of other planets in close proximity, totalling around 7 in total with a further four planets reached after a slightly longer journey.
Due to their location in these rim-worlds receive little scrutiny from the Catani. Indeed, Insidion itself is considered to be one of the most secure in the Catani prison network and its location makes it ideal to transport the more dangerous prisoners. However, due to the distance involved in traversing space to reach it, its existence is only a mute point. The nearby planets are considered to be devoid of life. However, in this corner of space the planets here have not been explored to the same depths. Similarly, it is known that these planets could support life but not ones that are apparently advanced enough as to pose a threat to the Catani. In the immediate orbit of Insidion is a derelict shipyard where old crumbling vessels are taken to rot when they no longer serve a useful function. This would be a paradise to any self-respecting Rebuscar but the prison underneath as well as the relative distance means that these ships remain relatively safe.
