Insidion
Insidion is an inhospitable desert environment where only the most strong willed survive. On the planet surface there is a large central oasis around which dozens of prisoner settlements have been established. The desert outside of this relative paradise is considered too harsh a wilderness for even the bravest to survive. There have been many tales of survivors beyond the confines of the oasis but those who have ventured have never been seen.
The Catani overlords themselves have protected the only means of escape from the planet surface behind a heavily fortified stronghold in the centre of the desert, far from their ward. It represents the only known access by ship to and from the planet into which all prisoners pass through initially before being transported to their settlements.
The prisoner settlements themselves act as outposts to the population of the violators of Catani law as well as the prisoners of war. The resident Catani guards provide basic nourishment and provisions but not enough to survive upon, causing a bloody civil war to ensue between the various rival gangs that have been forged. The residents either fight one another for the necessary supplies or barter with one another. However, many of these alliances are short lived, many ending in betrayal. Only the fiercest prisoners survive for long periods of time, a mixture of thieves and murderers trying to blend with the more honourable front line troops captured in combat. In this dichotomy, the Catani are able to distract them enough so as to prevent escape, further relying on the desert’s harsh climate to pick off any who dare enter it.
